Gus Hansen (aka “the Great Dane”) was born in Denmark and, after being a youth tennis champion and world-class backgammon player, entered the poker world and never looked back. With total winnings over $7 million, Hansen is the only player to win three World Poker Tour (WPT) open tournaments. Voted “Sexiest Poker Player” by People Magazine, Hansen won the first WPT Bad Boys of Poker invitational event and, in 2004, he was inducted into the World Poker Tour Walk of Fame, along with Doyle Brunson and James Garner.
